Alright all, we’ve started filming CNET TV.co.uk Live Sessions where we get bands into our studio at work and record them and stuff ;) The first band (of hopefully many) were The Broken Family Band – I had not heard of them before but they have 4 studio albums and a bit of a cult following going.
Having a (so called) degree in Audio Engineering, I jumped at the opertunity to sort out the audio side of things – the setup consisted of running 8 channels (4 mics on the kit, 2 on geetars, 1 on vox and DI on the bass) into the 24 channel Mackie in the studio with direct outs into my Edirol FA101. I did a live mix in the studio to sync up with the cameras (there were 3 robo cams and 2 operated with the robo cams being vision mixed live and the other 2 being tracked independantly down to tape.) I then took the multi-track audio and mixed it at home, syncing it back up with the finished video for the final results
Let me know what you guys think – we are hoping to do more off the back of this pilot.

the band not really my thing but liking the production and realisation :)
Great work! I think it is a great chance for new bands.
