If you’re a fan of GTA San Andreas you might enjoy the multiplayer mod, SA-MP. There was a crap GTA multiplayer mod out a while ago but this one is only a few months old and is apparently the best one. Me and MattB and Oktal have been playing it a bit and although, being a 0.1 beta, it’s a little glitchy – it’s good fun and has lots of clever features, for example you can jump in a car with another player and do up to 4 man drivebys. You play it by logging on to an array of online servers that host up to 100 internet players. Different servers feature different objectives, rules, etc., from ‘freeroam’ deathmatch to gang wars, cops vs. robbers, stunt mods, racing, jump jet battles and more. If you have San Andreas version 2.0 you need to downgrade it to version 1.0 for the mod to work – an .exe that does this can be found at www.gamecopyworld.com

I recommend playing on the Protect the PM server. You spawn in either as the Prime Minister, a bodyguard, a cop or a medic cop (with a lethal syringe), or parachute in as a psychopath. You have 15 mins to either kill or protect the PM and it’s pretty hilarious as the terrorists have fighter jets.
By the way, when in a vehicle and not the driver and in possession of a SMG, press H to do drive-by aiming. Took me ages to figure that out.
